As the weather starts to cool off, our Outings Program takes on an autumnal quality that will be evident in our next Watershed Outing: a hike on Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Headwaters region to the spring that gives birth to the mighty Chattahoochee River. Many don’t realize the river’s origin sits just a few hundred yards from the Appalachian Trail.

Join CRK Executive Director Sally Bethea on a 4.5-mile round-trip hike along a mountain ridge that offers spectacular views of two watersheds and fall foliage. The outing will start at the trailhead at 10:30 a.m. Bring your own lunch.

While it’s a moderate hike, it is not appropriate for small children. Registration is limited to the first 20 registrations: $15 non-members, $10 members, $5 kids ages 8-18. Register here.
